MARIYAH GASPACHO (mahryska) CRISTINA LINAZA (tinayums) - Mariyah & Cristina are Dubai-based Freelance Photographers who proud Filipinos making a mark in Fashion Industry in Dubai as photographers and bloggers. Having met a few years ago for their love of photography, beauty and fashion, they now work together side by side, as a powerful duo. They have been in the industry for several years now doing photography work for various agencies providing model portfolios, commercial work for several international clients, plus a wide range of fashion lookbooks to both local and international fashion designers. They cover the Dubai Fashion Week, Bridal Show and Dubai Fashion Fiesta yearly and as lovers of beauty and fashion, they attend the biggest fashion & beauty events regularly in the city for blog news and updates. Their individual blogs are widely read in both in the Middle East and internationally from the US, Europe and Asia.
They are devoted community volunteers at a Dubai-based non-profit Photography Club called OPPPS (www.oppps.com) where they serve the Filipino Community by sharing and teaching photography enthusiasts Basic Digital Photography. They also conduct various photography workshops. Several of their work has already been exhibited and featured at OPPPS, Gulf Photo Plus and Illustrado. They also contributed for both Illustrado magazine and IN fashion magazine.

OPPPS member bags 3rd Place in the Al Gharbia Photography Competition
Our very own Juan Paolo De Guzman won the Third Place in the recent Al Gharbia Photography Competition 2010.
Western Region Development Council announces results of the Al Gharbia Photography Competition 2010
Abu Dhabi - The Western Region Development Council (WRDC) the central coordinating body leading development and promoting opportunity in Al Gharbia, the Western Region of Abu Dhabi is proud to announce the names of the winners of the Al Gharbia Photography Competition 2010. The competition is organised in cooperation with the Emirates Photography Association, the Abu Dhabi International Photography Society and The National newspaper.
70 amateur and professional photographers from all over the United Arab Emirates participated in the competition, which opened in April. A total of 588 photographs were submitted, addressing the three main themes of the competition; adventure, nature, and heritage found in Al Gharbia. The judging took place at the end of June with the results announced today. The winners for each category are as follows:
Adventure First prize: Saeed Sultan Al Khasouni
Second prize: Yousif Al Ameer
Third prize: Juan Paulo De Guzman
Nature First prize: Maitha Bint Khalid
Second prize: Afra Abdullah Al Marar
Third prize: Kamran Ghebreli
Heritage First prize: Yousif Jasem Al-Ali
Second prize: Eid Sari Al Mazrouei
Third prize: Marwan Naamani
